As the summer approaches and school lets out, we are all itching to get up and go. Whether we are traveling home to see our loved ones or we are exploring a new destination our family likes to take lots of pit stops along the way.
Last summer when we traveled through about 20 states in a month, I can’t even count the number of stops we made. When you have kids you have to get them out of the car, the benefit is for you as much as it is for them.
Being a military family with a limited budget travel can have many restrictions… but this year there are lots of resources made to military member and families. Maybe you are already taking advantage of your FREE PASS to the National Parks, did you know that there are tons of museums that are FREE to military families this summer!
The Blue Star Museums Initiative started in 2010, and has listing for over 1500 museums that offer free admission to military families. Click on the link for more info and to search by state.
I was super excited because we have already made plans to stop at a couple of places on our upcoming trip only to find out some destination will be FREE!! Who doesn’t love FREE!?!
